CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

  • Restorative
    • Restorative classes are designed to be soothing to the nervous system. In this practice, the poses are passive and supported by using bolsters, blankets, blocks, etc. These soothing and deeply relaxing poses encourage understanding of the internal state, a more relaxed body, and balanced state of mind.  Restorative classes are suitable for all levels, and with regular practice have profound benefit on our entire mind/body system, by teaching us to relax and reflect.

  • Hatha
    • Hatha classes are designed for all levels. This is a slower paced practice and focused on alignment and moving with ease, by repetition and simplicity, we build toward effortlessness in the postures.

  • Vinyasa
    • Vinyasa classes are dynamic, deep and flowing, and help us build  strength and flexibility. Poses are linked together emphasizing a coordination of breath and movement.  This is a challenging practice, where we explore the body’s limitations, and gradually open to our own potential.

Level 1 classes are designed for beginning students, and those who desire to learn foundational principles.  We recommend these classes to all new students for learning the basics, and for building a safe and sustainable practice.

Level 2-3 classes are for the advancing student, who has a consistent yoga practice.  This is a challenging class where we will explore arm balances and inversions regularly.  We recommend at least 1 year of regular practice before joining this class.

Advanced classes are for those who have practiced with consistency the following poses: Salamba Sarvangasana, Salamba Sirsasana, Urdhva Dhanurasana, and arm balances and pranayama.  This is a very challenging class, and is recommended for serious committed students who have a solid understanding of alignment, inversion and breath work.

  • Gentle/Restorative Yoga
    • Gentle/Restorative yoga is recommended for students of all levels seeking a grounding, relaxing and restorative experience. The class will explore the deep, passive, supported relaxation of restorative yoga combined withgentle, breath conscious, mindful movement. Join us as we come back to our hearts.
  •
  • Yin Yoga
    • Yin is a slow paced style of yoga with seated poses that are held for longer periods of time.  Yin postures aim at increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility.  In addition, these postures can feel very meditative, making the practice very calming and relaxing.
